Volleyball Recap: Classical Takes Down Ranked Cranston West

Classical faced Cranston West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Purple were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Falcons. This was payback for the Purple, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Classical took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-12.

Amaya Womack paced Classical's offense, picking up eight kills. Womack got some help from Dara Agramonte and her 19 assists. Agramonte was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win was the fourth in a row for Classical, bringing their record up to 10-7. As for Cranston West, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Classical beat the Falcons by a score of 3-1 on Monday.
