Softball Recap: Webber Victorious

After losing to Grayville the last time they met, Webber decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans came out on top against the Bison by a score of 8-5 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Maryn Sneed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Webber got a big performance out of Mariah Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in April of 2025. Emerey Withrow also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Webber's record now sits at 3-6. As for Grayville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Webber will square off against Odin/Patoka/Sandoval at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grayville, they will take on Hutsonville/Palestine at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
