Basketball Game Preview: The Nueva School Mavericks vs. Pacific Bay Christian Eagles

The Nueva School Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Pacific Bay Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Nueva School has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 10.

Last Tuesday, The Nueva School took a blow against Menlo School, falling 69-26. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1293rd, while the Knights are ranked 262nd).

Meanwhile, Pacific Bay Christian came up short against Kehillah on Thursday and fell 59-47. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Pacific Bay Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for The Nueva School, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

The Nueva School was able to grind out a solid win over Pacific Bay Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 66-56. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pacific Bay Christian's Ethan Chau, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 23 points.
