Softball Game Preview: Parkridge Christian Panthers vs. Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves

The Parkridge Christian Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Parkridge Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They blew past Boca Raton Christian 22-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Oxbridge Academy got the win against West Boca Raton on Monday by a conclusive 11-0. Considering the ThunderWolves have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Aby Vital made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaiya Glucksman and Ila Trueblood did most of the damage at the plate: Glucksman scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Trueblood scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Trueblood has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ella Bianco, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oxbridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Parkridge Christian, their record now sits at 2-0.
