Volleyball Game Preview: Belen Jesuit Wolverines vs. Miami Stingarees

The Belen Jesuit Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Stingarees at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Belen Jesuit proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past Coral Gables 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since March 21st.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Belen Jesuit got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 14-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Miami faced Seminole Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Stingarees skirted past the Hawks 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Stingarees in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Miami had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 15-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-13.

Belen Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
