Basketball Game Preview: Covina Colts vs. Aveson Global Leadership Academy Avengers

The Covina Colts will challenge the Aveson Global Leadership Academy Avengers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Covina didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Charter Oak, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Meanwhile, Aveson Global Leadership Academy entered their tilt with Valley Torah on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Wolfpack with a 54-50 win.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy had a senior duo take command as Charvel White went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and seven assists and Sahar Fiiller went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. White has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cruz Aten, who posted eight points.

Aveson Global Leadership Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Covina, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-12.
