Football Recap: McLoud Comes Up Short

McLoud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victory Christian Conquerors. If the Redskins were looking for revenge after losing 38-21 to the Conquerors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, McLoud still got an impressive performance from Leroy Thomas, who rushed for 119 yards and two TDs, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one score.

McLoud's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Victory Christian, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.

McLoud has already played their next matchup, a 48-42 loss against Seminole on the 16th. As for Victory Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-7 defeat against Perkins-Tryon on the 16th.
