Baseball Recap: Davie's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Davie extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 12-12 in the process. They blew past the Glenn Bobcats 12-1. The result was nothing new for the War Eagles, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Davie got a great performance from Parker Davis as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Davis has become a key player for the War Eagles: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Davie let Coston Leo Colamarino and Coy James run wild. Colamarino went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while James went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Colamarino continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Ty Sain also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Glenn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-12. Bobcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Davie since on Thursday.

On Glenn's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Davie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
