Softball Game Preview: Preston Knights vs. East Fairmont Bees

Preston hasn't had much luck against East Fairmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will host the Bees at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Preston will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Elkins on Wednesday. The Knights walked away with a 10-6 win over the Tigers.

Hannah Liston was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Goff, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, East Fairmont made easy work of Robert C. Byrd on Wednesday and carried off a 9-1 victory.

The team relied heavily on Reese Van Zant, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Gracie Snyder was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Preston's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for East Fairmont, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.
