Baseball Recap: Twin Valley Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Twin Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Cedar Crest Falcons 5-4. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

The team relied heavily on Luke Raines, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Twin Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Oliver, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Twin Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cedar Crest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Twin Valley will challenge Daniel Boone at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blazers' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cedar Crest, they will take on Ephrata at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
