DeLand put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Lake Gibson Braves 54-7. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

DeLand was led to victory by Taihj Moore and Marceles Carey. Moore gained 173 total yards and two touchdowns, while Carey gained 188 total yards and two touchdowns. Moore didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended one pass.

DeLand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

DeLand didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nalin Rogers and Gardner Nordman. Rogers has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times he's played. DeLand received some extra help from An'tario Wright, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

DeLand's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Lake Gibson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

DeLand has already played their next game, a 42-0 victory against Spruce Creek on the 4th. As for Lake Gibson, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Edgewater at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Braves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
