Softball Game Preview: Ridgefield Tigers vs. Notre Dame Prep Lancers

The Ridgefield Tigers will square off against the Notre Dame Prep Lancers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame Prep took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ridgefield, who comes in off a win.

Ridgefield came out on top against Stamford on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fourth inning. The Tigers blew past the Black Knights 18-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Maddie Muncy was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Sonia Gaughran was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Ridgefield lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Notre Dame Prep's offense. They lost 12-0 to Masuk on Monday. The Lancers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Notre Dame Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Ridgefield, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
