Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Wildcats vs. Pebblebrook Falcons

Wheeler is 2-7 against Pebblebrook since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wheeler Wildcats will host the Pebblebrook Falcons at 12:30 p.m. Wheeler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

Wheeler will bounce into Saturday's game after beating North Cobb, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Wheeler took down North Cobb 52-35 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Wheeler found their leader in sophomore Jasmine James, who went 10 of 15 on her way to 24 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which James has scored at least a third of Wheeler's points. Another player making a difference was Cailyn Landrew, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Pebblebrook played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Paulding County, falling 89-29. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-15.

Wheeler's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Pebblebrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Wheeler was dealt a bruising 81-41 loss at the hands of Pebblebrook in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Wheeler, Ravyn Madaris (who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points in addition to seven assists and six steals) won't be suiting up this time.
