Inspiration Academy came tearing into Thursday's game with 11 straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs as they made off with a 16-7 victory. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 7-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Elle Hildreth made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Hildreth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Avery Bouquin was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Alexis McInerney was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Inspiration Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood Ranch onlymanaged ten hits.

Inspiration Academy's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Lakewood Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Inspiration Academy will square off against Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will face off against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
