Basketball Recap: Gold Beach Takes a Loss

Gold Beach lost against Myrtle Point back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gold Beach Panthers had to suffer through a 58-24 loss at the hands of the Myrtle Point Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Bobcats are ranked 99th).

Gold Beach has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Myrtle Point, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gold Beach Panthers take on the Illinois Valley Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Myrtle Point, they will square off against Reedsport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
