Braiton Applegate Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Perkins-Tryon's Braiton Applegate, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Applegate rushed for 18 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
Applegate and Perkins-Tryon will square off against Lone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Longhorns, probably because Applegate had a solid game then too: he rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Max Moore Delivers Best Effort of Season
Sadly, Max Moore posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mannford over Lone Grove on Thursday. Moore rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 222 yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
Mannford is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Moore and Mannford will venture away from home to challenge Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mclemore Made His Presence Known in Perkins-Tryon's 42-30 Win
The second Perkins-Tryon player making an appearance here is Raiden Mclemore, and for good reason. He rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards.
On the year, Mclemore has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 84.8 rushing yards per game.

Cash Matlack Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
On Thursday, Sulphur got the W thanks in part to Cash Matlack playing the best football he has all season. Matlack rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win (which was Sulphur's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Matlack and Sulphur are taking a road trip to face off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Shaun Hill's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcloud over Seminole
Rounding off our Top Five is Shaun Hill of McLoud. Hill picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 78 yards. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 63 yards.
McLoud dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Hill and McLoud will challenge Bristow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
