Harrison Langdon, who each put up five points.
When it comes to explaining why Millers Creek Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cam Layaou. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. The game was Layaou's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Heath, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Ashe County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Millers Creek Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Ashe County will head out on the road to face off against Newton-Conover at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Millers Creek Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gospel Light Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
