Volleyball Recap: Southwest DeKalb Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Southwest DeKalb suffered their biggest loss since October 8, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Marist War Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-3, 25-2.

Despite the loss, Southwest DeKalb still got an impressive performance from Aivah Peters, who had ten digs.

Marist found their leader in freshman Sawyer Straley, who had seven digs and seven aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Lang, who had 22 assists.

Southwest DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Marist, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 27 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-6 record this season.

Southwest DeKalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marist, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Northview on the 8th.
