Baseball Recap: Leilehua Wins Going Away Against Waipahu

Leilehua won the last time they faced Waipahu and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mighty Mules blew past the Marauders 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Mighty Mules, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Zayden Winter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Hurley Awana was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dylan Yonemori, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Leilehua has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waipahu, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Leilehua is set to challenge their familiar foe Pearl City at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mighty Mules 3.6, the Chargers 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Waipahu will square off against rival Mililani at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
