Preview: Freeman Scotties vs. Newport Grizzlies
Freeman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Newport Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Freeman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 806 points over their last 11 games.
Freeman can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Deer Park at home to the tune of 82-31. With Freeman ahead 47-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Freeman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Grant, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Vance Coyner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Newport scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Priest River by a score of 67-59. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Newport has managed all season.
Freeman's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points per game. As for Newport, their win bumped their record up to 2-14.
Everything came up roses for Freeman against Newport when the teams last played on January 6th as the team secured a 79-18 victory. With Freeman ahead 44-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
