Baseball Recap: Omaha Central Gets the Win

Omaha Central won the last time they faced Lincoln Southeast and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles walked away with a 5-2 win over the Knights.

Grant Hamill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Omaha Central is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-17 otherwise. Hamill was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Hamill wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Boe Di Lorenzo, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Omaha Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-18. As for Lincoln Southeast, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha Central is set to square off against their familiar foe South Sioux City on Monday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast will face off against rival Lincoln High at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
