Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lillyann Mahoney and Hazel Noel Lead Telluride to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dolores, Telluride was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Nucla Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Telluride won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12, 25-22.

Telluride was led to victory by Hazel Noel and Lillyann Mahoney. Noel had five aces and three digs, while Mahoney had 16 assists and eight digs. Those five aces gave Noel a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Telluride was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are a perfect 10-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Telluride's record is now 14-5. As for Nucla, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Telluride will take on Cedaredge in a tournament on Friday. As for Nucla, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Norwood on the 30th.
