Softball Recap: St. John Fighting Herald vs. Cardinal Huskies
St. John was the 6-5 winner over Cardinal when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The St. John Fighting Herald lost 17-1 to the Cardinal Huskies on Thursday.
For Cardinal's part, they got a great performance from Dakota Gillispie as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Morgan Soltis was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Krebs, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
St. John's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Cardinal, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
