Recap: Bishop Gorman Crusaders vs. Yavneh Academy Bulldogs
The Bishop Gorman Crusaders waltzed into their game on Thursday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over Yavneh Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Bishop Gorman, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bishop Gorman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Todd, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Richbourg, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Yavneh Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darren Sacher. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Joe Schwartz was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists.
Yavneh Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bishop Gorman pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
Bishop Gorman's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Yavneh Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6.
