Basketball Recap: Nelson Island Drops Season-High Score on St. Mary's

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nelson Island). They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 win over the St. Mary's Eagles on Thursday. This was payback for the Islanders, who suffered a 52-43 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nelson Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelsey Angaiak, who posted 22 points. Angaiak continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Acelyn Moses was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory got Nelson Island back to even at 4-4. As for St. Mary's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Nelson Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-30 defeat against Chaputnguak on the 31st. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
