Baseball Recap: Danville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Garrard County

There's no place like home for Danville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Garrard County Golden Lions by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. For the Admirals, this counts as revenge for the 20-11 win the Golden Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Hayden Foster made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Foster wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was KJ Dismeaux, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Danville's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 14-5. As for Garrard County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Danville beat Garrard County by a score of 7-1 on Wednesday.
