Victoria West hasn't had much luck against Alamo Heights recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will host the Mules at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Victoria West's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Victoria West proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 34) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tivy, sneaking past 59-56. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jenesis Jeffries was his usual excellent self, rushing for 202 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also catching one score. Another player making a difference was Nolan Boyce, who threw for 139 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Victoria West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 447 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Victoria West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tay'Vian Peoples and Kevin Cupp. Another thorn in Tivy's side was Jacob Freeman, who picked up two sacks and made 11 total tackles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alamo Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Harlandale with a sharp 42-20 victory on Friday. The Mules might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 22 points or more this season.
Victoria West pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.5 points this season. As for Alamo Heights, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Victoria West was dealt a bruising 56-28 loss at the hands of Alamo Heights in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 28-7.
