Basketball Recap: Holcomb Takes a Loss

Holcomb lost against Portageville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Holcomb Hornets were dealt an 82-27 loss at the hands of the Portageville Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 63rd).

Holcomb dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Portageville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Holcomb has already played their next contest (against East Prairie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Portageville has already played their next game, a 54-37 win against Chaffee on the 14th.
