The Wilson Christian Academy Chargers will take on the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilson Christian Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Wilson Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Scotland Christian Academy with a sharp 18-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.
Hudson White looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Wilson Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Ethan Kriger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Kriger a new career-high. Briley Futrell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Wilson Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mount Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Greenfield.
Seth Tickel put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rocky Mount Academy is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise. Tickel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Tickel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Creech-Jones, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Wilson Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Wilson Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 15-3 defeat they got from Rocky Mount Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
