Woodland scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cartersville Hurricanes. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cartersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nas Bennett, who went 10 of 20 en route to 30 points and six boards. That's the most points Bennett has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Thomason, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Cartersville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Woodland will venture away from home to face off against Southeast Whitfield County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland is facing Southeast Whitfield County at the right time seeing as Southeast Whitfield County is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Cartersville, they will challenge Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cartersville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Cedartown likes a good challenge.
