Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwood Temple Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenny Vera, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Kindle, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Freedom Christian Academy entered their tilt with Village Christian Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 98-40 win over the Knights. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.
Northwood Temple Academy better focus on containing Bryce West and Karsten Swinney as the pair were huge in Freedom Christian Academy's win. West dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds, while Swinney posted 29 points along with five assists and four steals. The game was Swinney's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haidyn Bell, who dropped a double-double on 18 boards and ten assists.
Vera wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Freedom Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 34 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.
Freedom Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 95.0 points per game. As for Northwood Temple Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Northwood Temple Academy beat Freedom Christian Academy 96-85 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwood Temple Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
