Recap: New Town vs. Overlea Falcons
New Town had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 71-14 victory over Overlea at home. That 71-14 margin sets a new team best for New Town this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Town to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tarshay Bell, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Nialah Mingo, who scored 14 points.
New Town's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Overlea, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
New Town and Old Mill will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th at. Overlea will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dulaney at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Dulaney is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
