Baseball Recap: Pikeview Drops Highest Score of Season Against Summers County

PikeView extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-9 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Summers County Bobcats. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Landon Wyatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, PikeView got a massive performance out of Trenton Tolliver, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Tolliver is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Eli Hilling was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

PikeView always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Summers County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17-1. They have struggled against PikeView recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

On Summers County's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braiden Cozort, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Robey Brown, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
