Basketball Game Preview: Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers vs. Riverside Argonauts

The Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers will face off against the Riverside Argonauts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Indiana School for the Deaf: they have been struggling with 12 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Riverside has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Indiana School for the Deaf lost to Columbus Christian at home by a 66-50 margin.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Riverside over International in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Riverside blew International out of the water with a 71-25 final score. The Argonauts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Riverside had a senior duo take command as Bini Hopper went 8-for-14 to rack up 19 points in addition to five assists and four steals and Brayden Torgrimson dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Torgrimson a new career-high in steals (five). Ty Hopper was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.

Indiana School for the Deaf took a serious blow against Riverside in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 78-44. Can Indiana School for the Deaf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
