Basketball Recap: Bethesda Christian Takes a Loss

Bethesda Christian was the 60-12 winner over Victory Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Bethesda Christian Lions took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victory Christian Academy Patriots on Friday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Victory Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layton Huddleston, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Donald, who posted ten points.

Bethesda Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Victory Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bethesda Christian Lions challenge the Sacred Heart Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will take on Harvest Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
