Recap: Carrollton Hawks vs. Routt Catholic Rockets

The Carrollton Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-47 defeat to Routt Catholic. Carrollton has struggled against Routt Catholic recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Bryson Mossman was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with four steals for Routt Catholic. Mossman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kellen Creviston, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Carrollton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Routt Catholic, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Routt Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 521st, while Routt Catholic is ranked 250th).
