Football Preview: Hartshorne Miners vs. Wilburton Diggers        
        
		
             Hartshorne is 8-2 against Wilburton since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Hartshorne Miners are taking a road trip to  challenge the Wilburton Diggers  at 7:00  p.m. Hartshorne will be strutting in after a  win while Wilburton will be coming in after a  defeat.
 Last Friday, Hartshorne blew past Morris, posting  a  62-14 victory at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Miners just coasted through the last quarter.
 Hartshorne's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Carter Johnson, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson didn't just play on offense: he also picked up  a  sack and made four total tackles.  Aden Reeves also helped with two touchdowns in total.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hartshorne was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 298  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since  back in September of 2023.
 Hartshorne's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Gus Miller.
 Meanwhile, Wilburton couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell  20-8 to Gore last Friday. The Diggers just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row dating back to last season.
 Everything came up roses for Hartshorne against Wilburton when the teams last played  back in September of 2023 as the  squad secured  a  52-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hartshorne since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
