Basketball Recap: Bishop Manogue Takes Down Ranked Reno

On Friday, Bishop Manogue faced Reno in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bishop Manogue Miners came out on top against the Reno Huskies by a score of 59-48. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-48 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Manogue to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Sorensen, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. Jamahl Jackson was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Reno still got an impressive performance from Eric Platz, who posted 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Edwards, who scored six points.

Bishop Manogue is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Reno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Manogue will face off against Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Manogue is facing Carson at the right time seeing as Carson is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Reno has already played their next matchup (against McQueen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
