The Hillel Academy Heat will take on the Geibel Catholic Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillel Academy has three straight wins, Geibel Catholic has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hillel Academy gave up the first runs on Sunday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Fuchs Mizrachi with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Heat might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.
Dovid Blalock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Blalock was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Yosef Levari was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Ashi Itskowitz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Hillel Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Geibel Catholic and Monessen meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Gators lost 15-4 to the Greyhounds. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Like Hillel Academy, Geibel Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Eahn Stevenson. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Stevenson has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hillel Academy pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Geibel Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hillel Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Geibel Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
