Football Recap: Carbondale Terriers vs. Mt. Vernon Rams
Carbondale was the 23-10 winner over Mt. Vernon when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Carbondale Terriers took a 31-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Vernon Rams on Friday.
Despite the loss, Carbondale still got an impressive performance from Demarzion Graham, who rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Graham has posted since back in September of 2023. Braylon Berry was in the mix too, providing Carbondale with two touchdowns.
Carbondale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mt. Vernon, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carbondale will host Collinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will play host again on Friday to welcome Marion, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
