Westfield extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-8 in the process. They blew past the Hamilton Southeastern Royals 12-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Thursday.
Owen Swinford looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Westfield let Ethan Colling and Beck Jordan run wild. Colling went 4-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Jordan went 3-for-5 with six RBI and one double. That's the most hits Jordan has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jake Russell, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Westfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
As for Hamilton Southeastern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 26, 2024.
On Hamilton Southeastern's side, they got a good showing from Tyler Sarver, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The Royals are 3-1 when Sarver allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-16 otherwise.
At the plate, Trey McManama was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cy Cole was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Coming up, Westfield will take on Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Center Grove at 6:00 p.m.
