Volleyball Recap: Evangelical Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Evangelical Christian waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Imagine School at North Port Sharks as they made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sentinels also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2015.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-4, 25-10.

Leading Evangelical Christian to victory were Olivia Holt and Reese Pool. Holt had five assists and four aces, while Pool had three digs and two aces. That's the most digs Pool has posted over her last six contests. Brianna Acosta also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Evangelical Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive matchups.

Evangelical Christian's record is now 14-6. As for Imagine School at North Port, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Evangelical Christian and Gateway Charter will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Imagine School at North Port, they will take on Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
