Baseball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers

Valley hasn't had much luck against Pleasure Ridge Park recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will host the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Valley has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Jeffersontown, falling 20-7.

Meanwhile, Pleasure Ridge Park put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Prestonsburg a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 26 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Pleasure Ridge Park pushed their record up to 36-0 with the victory, which was their 43rd straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Valley suffered a grim 23-2 defeat to Pleasure Ridge Park when the teams last played back in April. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
