Softball Game Preview: Anthem Prep Eagles vs. Ray Bearcats

The Anthem Prep Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Ray Bearcats at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Anthem Prep has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Anthem Prep's tournament run continued when they took on Sunnyslope on Saturday. The Eagles lost 23-3 to the Vikings.

Anthem Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Locke, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Madi Starr, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Globe, falling 17-2.

Ray's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Anthem Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Everything went Anthem Prep's way against Ray in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Anthem Prep made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
