Volleyball Recap: Sturgis East Beats Sturgis West for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Sturgis East came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sturgis West Navigators with a sharp 3-0 victory. The game was the first time the Storm have beaten the Navigators on their court since October 3, 2022.

The win didn't come easy: Sturgis West scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 26-24.

Cali Squier paced Sturgis East's offense, picking up seven kills. Squier were helped by Rowen Scully and Mariya Marais, who contributed ten assists each. Scully was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Sturgis East's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Sturgis West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Sturgis East has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Nauset Regional on the 20th. Sturgis West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
