Preview: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Adair Warriors
The Pawhuska Huskies will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Adair Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Pawhuska is ranked 111th, while Adair is ranked 114th).
Pawhuska unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They were outmatched by Sequoyah on the road and fell 49-16.
Although Pawhuska took the loss, they still got scores from Canyon Hindman and Traven Richardson.
Meanwhile, Adair put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Vinita 34-14. The victory was familiar territory for Adair who now have five in a row.
Cale Winfrey got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Ryan Wilson was another key contributor, picking up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pawhuska's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Adair, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Pawhuska commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Adair struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Everything came up roses for Pawhuska against Adair in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 46-18 win. Will Pawhuska repeat their success, or does Adair have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
