Basketball Recap: Las Vegas Takes a Loss

If Las Vegas was feeling good fresh off their 37-17 takedown of Clark last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Las Vegas Wildcats had to suffer through a 74-9 loss at the hands of the Centennial Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Bulldogs are ranked sixth).

Amanii Darby was Las Vegas' leading scorer, having posted five points. Sariyah Johnson held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Las Vegas dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Las Vegas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 85-45 defeat against Coronado on the 13th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-34 loss against Priory on the 13th.
