Recap: McCormick Chiefs vs. Saluda Tigers
The McCormick Chiefs came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 43-38 victory over Saluda. Given McCormick's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Saluda is ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading McCormick to victory were Terrence Cartledge and Darius Houston. Cartledge scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and four blocks, while Houston scored 18 points. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Demetric Anderson, who scored seven points.
McCormick's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Saluda, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
