Basketball Recap: Pinewood Prep's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Pinewood Prep had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by the Cathedral Academy Generals 30-29 on Tuesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 44-31 win the Generals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cathedral Academy had strong showings from Madison Jackson, who posted 13 points, and Raven Williams, who put up 11 points. That was a full 44.8% of Cathedral Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Pinewood Prep's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Cathedral Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinewood Prep will square off against Porter-Gaud at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cathedral Academy, they will challenge Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Cathedral Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
