Basketball Recap: Sandy Creek Skates Past David City with Ease

Sandy Creek won the last time they faced David City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Scouts 56-11. The Cougars pushed the score to 47-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Scouts had no chance of recovering from.

Logan Tomky was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 8-for-12 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaeden Schmidt, who posted six points and three steals.

Sandy Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as David City only posted four.

Sandy Creek has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 53 points this season. As for David City, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Sandy Creek will take on Centennial on Thursday. As for David City, they have already played their next contest, a 47-35 victory against Schuyler on the 9th.
